Bryan Kohberger, a former Ph.D. student, has been indicted on murder charges for allegedly killing four University of Idaho students. During his court appearance, Kohberger chose to "stand silent" and did not enter a plea. The presiding judge entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf. Kohberger has previously expressed his belief that he will be exonerated.
The trial is scheduled to begin in October in Moscow, Idaho. Investigators have linked Kohberger to the murders through DNA evidence found on a knife sheath at the crime scene and surveillance footage showing a car similar to his near the house at the time of the killings.
Prosecutors have not revealed any prior connections between Kohberger and the victims.
