Sony's PlayStation Showcase 2023 was packed with exciting announcements and surprises. Here are the six biggest highlights from the event:

  1. Project Q: Sony unveiled a new handheld device called Project Q, designed for remote play of PS5 games. Resembling a combination of Nintendo Switch and DualSense controller, it offers a portable gaming experience.
  2. Spider-Man 2: A gameplay trailer for Spider-Man 2 was showcased, revealing Peter Parker's new symbiote powers. The highly anticipated game is set to release in fall 2023.
  3. Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater Remake: Konami confirmed the development of a remake for Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater. While details are scarce, the game is expected to be available on PS5, Xbox, and PC.
  4. Marathon: The newly acquired PlayStation studio, known for Destiny and Halo, announced their return to their sci-fi shooter roots with Marathon. The game will be released on Xbox and PC, featuring cross-play and cross-save support.

  6. PSVR 2 and VR titles: Sony showcased a range of titles for the upcoming PSVR 2, including a VR mode for Resident Evil 4 remake. Other notable titles featured were Crossfire: Sierra Squad, Synapse, and the immensely popular Beat Saber, which was made available on the same day as the event.
